We are excited to welcome you to the Lyric Theatre and want you to have the best experience possible whilst you are here. The safety of our audiences, performers and staff is our utmost priority. We are following government guidelines and as such have put in place a number of measures as part of our COVID Safe procedures plan. For further information check the COVID-19 secure section above. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

48 hours before the performance we’ll ask you to check-in online which will involve completing a health questionnaire on behalf of yourself and your party to assist with track and trace. Once completed, we’ll deliver your tickets to your mobile or smart device for contact-free entry to the theatre.

If you do not receive your health questionnaire within 48 hours or your e-tickets within 24 hours of your visit, please contact boxoffice@nimaxtheatres.com and our team will assist you.

 

HOW TO GET HERE

By Car

The nearest car park is Newport Place, in Chinatown. If you’re driving into the West End to see a show, take advantage of Q-Park’s Theatreland Parking Scheme. Save 50% off parking with Q-Park (after 12pm and for up to 4 hours). To qualify, simply present your Q-Park car park ticket for validation at our box office and the car park machine will automatically charge you half price.  For details of locations and prices please visit Q-Park’s website.

By Public transport

Tube

Piccadilly Circus is just a short walk away, with entrances to the underground at every corner of the road junction. The station is on the Bakerloo line (between Charing Cross and Oxford Circus) and the Piccadilly Line (between Green Park and Leicester Square), so it’s well connected with the rest of London.

National Rail

The Lyric Theatre is easily accessible from most of the major National Rail London stations. Charing Cross is our nearest National Rail station and is just a 10 minute walk from the theatre or one stop on the Bakerloo line to Piccadilly Circus. If you are arriving at one of our other major National Rail stations we recommend jumping on the tube for quick onward travel to the theatre. Get the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus for 5 stops from Kings Cross, the Northern line for 4 stops from Euston to Leicester Square (5 min walk from the theatre) or just six stops on the Bakerloo from Paddington to Piccadilly Circus.

ACCESS AND FACILITIES

There are 4 stairs from the street to the foyer. To access the auditorium there are 24 stairs to the Stalls, The Dress Circle is located off the main foyer, There are 25 stairs to the Upper Circle and 60 stairs to the Balcony.

Wheelchair user access is located in the Dress Circle Boxes, which are at street level. Please report to the main entrance on arrival and a member of staff will accompany you to the wheelchair access entrance on Shaftesbury Avenue. Wheelchair spaces are in boxes C, D and E. Boxes can accommodate up to 3 persons. There is a fully adapted unisex toilet in the Dress Circle.

There are Ladies and Gentlemen’s toilets on all levels.

The theatre bars are located on all levels. There is no level access to the bars for wheelchair users; a member of theatre staff will offer assistance purchasing beverages on behalf of customers. Programmes and Ice Creams are available in the main foyer and auditorium. All drinks and refreshments will be available for pre-order to minimise queuing and assist social distancing.

Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome.  For comfort we recommend purchasing a seat on the end of a row.  Alternatively we provide a dog sitting service for 2 dogs at a time; advance booking is recommended.

 The theatre is fitted with a Williams Sound hearing assistance system. Headsets are available on a first come first served basis.

The WIR RX15-2

WIR RX22-4N

The WIR RX15-2 is a two-channel, infrared receiver designed for use with a transmitter operating on 2.3 MHz or 2.8 MHz. This easy-to-operate, headset-style receiver is ideal for listening applications where excellent sound quality is essential. Each earphone features its own individual volume-control knob. A push-button frequency selector makes it easy to alternate between 2.3 MHz or 2.8 MHz operation.

The WIR RX22-4N is a four-channel selectable, infrared receiver compatible with transmitters operating on the 2.3/2.8/3.3/3.8 MHz bandwidth. Dual infrared detectors maximise sensitivity and operating range. Range of up to 28,000 square feet (2,600 square meters) in single-channel mode when used with a Williams Sound WIR TX925 or WIR TX90 infrared system. Comfortable, body-pack design features convenient channel selector and easy-to-use on/off volume control. The RX22-4N can be used with mono or stereo headphones, earphones or a neckloop (lanyard included).  Details of specific access performances for each production can be found on the show pages. These may include relaxed, BSL Interpreted, Audio Described and Captioned performances and are arranged by the producers.

COVID-19 SECURE

The safety of our audiences, performers and staff is our utmost priority. Please find our current measures outlined below but note these are subject to changes to keep in line with the latest government guidance. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. 

TICKET EXCHANGE
If you or a member of your party are required to isolate because of COVID-19, please stay at home and follow government guidelines. Our friendly team will help you re-arrange your visit if you are unable to attend. To request an exchange please complete our online form before 10am on the day of the performance by CLICKING HERE.

YOUR VISIT

At least 48 hours before the performance we’ll ask you to check-in online to confirm your attendance.

If you opted for e-tickets or print-at-home tickets, they will be emailed to you after completing check-in. E-tickets can be displayed on your mobile or smart device. Print-at-home tickets can be printed or presented on your mobile or smart device.

If you opted to collect your tickets from the box office or don’t have a smart device please visit the theatre box office on the day of the performance.

If you do not receive your check-in email within 48 hours or your e-tickets within 24 hours of your visit, please visit the box office on the day of the performance and our team will assist you.


OUR THEATRES OPERATE AT FULL CAPACITY BUT WE CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN COVID MITIGATION MEASURES INCLUDING:
Contactless ticketing. Staggered arrival times advised on your ticket.
Different entry and exit points depending on the location of your seats.
Traffic flow systems to facilitate safe movement around the building where possible.
Drinks pre-ordered and consumed in the comfort of your seat.
Floor and wall signage to help navigate around the theatre.
Please respect social distancing including when queuing to enter the theatres. Staff will be on hand to assist you.

Whilst face covering are no longer mandatory, we respectfully ask audience members aged 11 and above to wear a face covering, fully covering the nose and mouth, whilst inside the theatre – except when eating or drinking or if you are exempt.

An official NHS QR code will be displayed on arrival if you wish to check in with the NHS COVID-19 App.

Contactless bag checks will be carried out at the entrance to the theatre. There will not be any cloakroom facilities available so please only bring one bag per person (max size 40cm x 20cm x 25cm).

Please use the hand sanitiser provided as you enter the theatre. Sanitiser can also be found at designated points throughout the building.

All Nimax theatres are sanitised regularly and professionally cleaned.
